Although the footprint of the LHPOST is 7.6m wide by 12.2m long, it is possible to extend the footprint using outrigger systems. The shake table can be extended longitudinally as was done for the Metal Building Systems project, as well as transversely as was done for the Seismic Design Methodology for Precast Building Diaphragms project. The design and construction of an outrigger system should be included as part of the proposed research project and is the responsibility of the Principal Investigator.
